Animated Webcam Overlay Maker

Design a static or animated facecam border for your stream, then download a transparent PNG or an animated WebM that drops straight onto your webcam in OBS — for Twitch, Kick & YouTube.

The centre is transparent — place it over your webcam in OBS.

This free webcam overlay maker creates a facecam border — static or animated — for your stream in seconds. Choose a shape, a style and your brand colors, then download a transparent PNG for a still frame, or an animated WebM for moving borders. Drop it over your camera source in OBS, Streamlabs or any encoder on Twitch, Kick and YouTube. No signup, no watermark, everything runs in your browser.

Animated webcam borders

Pick from sixteen animated styles — pulse glow, breathing, rotating gradient, marching dashes, rainbow cycle, comet trail, twin comets, flowing shine, color pulse, neon flicker a loading ring, a heartbeat pulse, rainbow flow, a snake, subtle shimmer or a glow sweep. The preview loops live so you can dial in the speed and colors. When you're happy, export an animated WebM and add it in OBS.

How to use the animated overlay in OBS

The animated WebM is exported on a green background so it stays smooth and full-color. In OBS, add it as a Media Source, enable Loop, then add a Chroma Key filter set to green — the green disappears and your animated border floats over your webcam. This is the standard, reliable way to run moving overlays, because transparent video formats aren't supported everywhere.

How to add a static webcam overlay in OBS

Add your camera as a Video Capture Device, then add an Image source above it and select the transparent PNG you downloaded here. Resize the overlay so its transparent window lines up with your camera, and lock the layer. The frame is exported with a transparent centre, so your face shows cleanly through the middle.

Pick a shape that fits your layout

A 16:9 frame suits a standard corner cam, 1:1 and circle are popular for Just Chatting and vertical scenes, and 9:16 is made for vertical streams on TikTok, Kick and YouTube Shorts. Each shape exports at a high resolution so the border stays crisp at any size.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make an animated webcam overlay?

Yes. Choose from eleven animated styles — pulse, breathing, rotating gradient, marching dashes, rainbow, comet, twin comets, flowing shine, color pulse, neon flicker, loading ring, heartbeat, rainbow flow, snake, shimmer or glow sweep — and export an animated WebM. It's rendered on a green background so you can chroma-key it in OBS for a clean moving border.

How do I make a webcam overlay for OBS?

Pick a shape, style and colors above, download the transparent PNG, then add it as an Image source above your camera in OBS and line up the transparent centre with your face.

Is the exported PNG transparent?

Yes. The static PNG is exported with a fully transparent centre and outer area, so only the border shows over your webcam feed.

Why is the animated export a green screen?

Transparent animated video isn't reliably supported across apps, so the WebM uses a green background you remove with a Chroma Key filter in OBS. That keeps the animation smooth and full quality.

Does it work for Twitch, Kick and YouTube?

Yes. A PNG or WebM overlay works in any streaming software, so the same facecam border is perfect for Twitch, Kick, YouTube and vertical platforms.
